La Patasola

This rarely traveled unpaved road starts at 1800m along the Quindio River, ~10km downstream from Cocora. The road runs up hill through commercial forest before arriving to old growth forest from 2300m-2600m. This is area is full of wildlife, including mountain tapirs. There is a wide variety of bird species in this area including guans, trogons, quetzals, hummingbirds, and raptors. The eBird hotspot lists 319 species: La Patasola Illustrated Checklist.
